In addition to co-founding key industry organizations, such as the Strata Property Agents of BC (2000) and the National Association of Condominium Managers (2008), Rick has been a past President and Board Member of the Professional Association of Managing Agents, past Chairman and Board Member of the Rental Housing Council of BC, and a past Committee Member of the Property Management Committee of the Real Estate Council of BC. In 1981, he became a licensed Managing Broker.
Building on his wealth of experience and demonstrated passion for real estate management, Rick has written several articles and made many presentations about property management, including a submission presented to the Dave Barrett Commission on Leaky Condominiums in April 1998. He has also acted as a court-appointed Strata Corporation Administrator, and an arbitrator and mediator, and been a radio guest on CKNW, fielding questions related to Strata Management on the popular Bill Good program.
Currently, Rick is on the Board of Directors of the Strata Property Agents of BC and a member of the Rental Management, Strata Management and Education Advisory Committees of the Real Estate Council of BC. Rick is also first person in B.C. to earn the Registered Condominium Manager designation from the National Association of Condominium Managers. Born and raised in Vancouver, he enjoys his family and friends as well as walking, swimming, running, biking, triathlons, hiking and reading during his leisure time, with Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea, an all-time favorite book.
Rick completed his first triathlon in 2007 – Ironman Canada.
